Cinematic Mod with SMOD

I've spent the last hour or so turning google inside out in an attempt to find out if it is possible to play cinematic mod combined with SMOD. Both are amazing and I would love to play both at once. Of course I know that I would have to cut a few things out when combining them to keep them from eating each other apart.

Does anyone know how to make it work? Anyone know where I could find out or any ideas?

that could only happen if the authors collaborated - e.g. FF would have to develop textures etc for the new scence & new NPCs in SMOD.

as the authors are german & japanese? respectively they may not even share a common language!

Also, looks like SMOD uses the HL2 souce engine , but FF uses the more advanced EP2 engine for all 3 episodes.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've heard of people installing SMOD and then overwriting certain files such as models and music by manually putting them in from the Cinematic Mod. I'd imagine this would create certain problems but from what I've found it does work, only it crashes at certain points.

It's a shame really, I would love to use both. I'll tinker around with it and reply again if I find something.

Cinematic Smod Addon Version 3

Hello there. If you haven't noticed the smod author updated smod to the ep2 engine.
With doing this it should be easier to combine the two. In fact I put together a "Cinematic Smod Addon"
for FFCM 10.30 users. It only requires FFCM 10.30 and about 100mb of space to download and extract.
Smod(2) the author calls it, is a work in progress version of the original smod for the ep2 engine.

Vanilla Smod(2).03 is only for ep2 storyline and only has a few custom weapons, no bullettime yet, no ironsights yet,
but does have the gordon kick. You can get vanilla Smod(2).03 on this page. Its not quite the good ol smod we remember yet but it soon will be.

"Cinematic Smod Addon version 1" I made for the fakefactory's cinematic mod community.
Compatable with hl2 ep1 and ep2 in ffcm with only a few title bugs. (installation instructions included in readme)

I found a major bug with ep0 in the jeep levels (for now just ch_createjeep and ent_setname to jeep, DONT GET IN THE PRESPAWNED JEEPS OR YOU WILL CRASH 8| )
I started working on a fix but the fix is becoming a inconvience for the user so ill just wait till the smod author updates it.

why not add some effects like explosions and blood from smod outbreak? and some zombie skins from this mod?

Hi i'm back again this time for a update for 10.42
Sadly tho smod2 .03 engine doesn't support cinematic mods new dynamic light maps.
But don't worry Fakefactory packed the old maps in the update so all you do is have to copy them into your cinematic smod folders.
Still no news on any updates for smod2 from the author.
Anyway Heres the updated version only changes are a few config and auto config updates for the new cinematic mod update.
Anyway i've included a new readme with better instructions. Remember Default map Jeeps still don't work. Have fun tho! :)

I hope you will make in some "classic weapons skin pack", there are a lot of hi-quality on fpsbanana, like beretta for usp, mp5 for smg, ecc. ecc....
For the maps fixs try to ask mr.FakeFactory, you MUST team up with him.
